SAUDI ARAMCO JUBAIL REFINERY COMPANY SASREF is at the very heart of Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical industry, Jubail Industrial City. It is acknowledged as an industry pacesetter and was specifically designed as an export refinery In 1981, Pertomin and Shell signed a joint agreement to establish a refinery complex. Construction of the refinery started in 1982 1984 – completion of the refinery and start-up of the first unit. And in 1985, completion of start-up. Inaugurated on the 23rd of December 1986 by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahad Bin Abdulaziz. SASREF was envisioned as one of the most modern refineries in the world. 1988 – Debottlenecking from 250,000 to 305,000 barrels per day. In February 1989, Saudi Arabian Marketing and Refining Company (SAMAREC) took over Petromin’s share. In July 1993, Saudi Aramco took over SAMAREC’s share. In September 2019, SASREF became 100% owned by Saudi Aramco.

Provide technical support to develop/execute the plan for test and inspection of instrument safety/safeguarding equipment and systems. Maintenance of various instrument systems including DCS, PLC, Enraf. Assist in planning and monitoring the execution of instrument maintenance strategy for the plant. Owner of the Custody Transfer Measurement validation. Support in instrument equipment failures investigations. Custodian of the Instrumentation Master Plan.

1. Provide technical advice to develop, review and update validation of the custody transfer system program, communicate validation reports to external customer to ensure compliance with custody agreements.

2. Provide professional engineering advice and technical expertise for SASREF business units and departments to support project development, engineering studies, SD/TA plans and activities, I&R improvement programs.

3. Assist in technical support and advice to develop, monitor implementation and revise the maintenance strategies for field instrumentation, telecomm, control, monitoring and safeguarding / Fire & Gas Detection systems to ensure and enhance the integrity and reliability of instrument equipment.

4. Assist in the review and identification of Bad Actors (instrument equipment) through providing relevant technical support, analyse the problems/issues and provide recommendations to ensure/enhance asset reliability.

5. Assist in the development and implementation of integrity audit plans for instrument equipment to ensure integrity of assets.

6. Provide instrument technical advice and support to shutdown / turnaround scope of work to ensure and enhance availability and integrity of plant and equipment.

7. Develop and execute the implementation of T&I plans for safeguarding, Fire and Gas systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant.

8. Develop, plan and execute change requests related to DCS system.

9. Provide technical authority approval for the design changes.

10. Develop and keep up the custody of the Instrumentation Master Plan.

11. Provide instrument technical support by providing/reviewing scope of work and monitoring execution of contract to ensure competent contract services are acquired and executed.

12. Ensure the business processes and work activities, relevant to position, are executed in compliance with SASREF policy, procedures and best practice to achieve the business objectives in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

13. Lead, motivate, develop and assess the assigned team to achieve business objectives and grow capability.

14. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct manager/Lead Engineer.

B.Sc. Degree in instrument / electronic engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience.
