Saudi Aramco Rowan Drilling Company (SARODC) is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil and gas company, and Valaris,  the industry’s leading global drilling contractor. This 50/50  joint venture represents a milestone in the development of a competitive Saudi energy sector, as outlined in Saudi Aramco’s In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) program and Saudi Vision 2030.

Saudi Aramco and Valaris have worked together continuously in the Saudi market since 2006, and this enhanced partnership will ensure increased cooperation between partners, increased drilling efficiency, improved localization of the drilling industry in Saudi Arabia and delivery of the best drilling performance in accordance with the highest international standards.

The offshore drilling market in the Kingdom is expected to expand, creating a huge demand for drilling services. Accordingly, we are committed to purchasing up to twenty high-spec drilling rigs over a period of ten years, with the first batch to be delivered in early 2023, to meet Saudi Aramco’s offshore drilling requirements in the Kingdom.
